‘Christmas in Narnia’ continues at Castle Howard

This event, inspired by the novels of C. S Lewis, continues through till 3 January. But who knows what’s round the corner?  If you want to step through the wardrobe into a magical adventure this festive season, don’t delay. A Channel 4 documentary scheduled to be broadcast this Wednesday at 9pm will no doubt bring a surge of interest.

The historic house has been turned into the wintery, magical land of Narnia. Visitors journey through the lavishly decorated state rooms and experience installations and soundscapes based on scenes from the epic stories.

Hovingham Village Market 4 December

Hovingham Village Market (with local food, rural crafts & community Cafe) will be on this Saturday, starting at 10.30am and continuing through to 1.30pm. The Swinton and District Excelsior Band will be playing.

Any proceeds will go to our ongoing fundraising for facilities in the church to provide heating, a kitchen and an accessible toilet.

Churchyard leaf clearance called off for safety reasons
