Comment System Update

Here on the website we love getting feedback. It’s with that in mind that the comments system has been updated to include an integrated social media login option.

If you use Facebook or Twitter, you can now leave a comment on the village website by logging in using either of those social network accounts. It makes adding a comment on the website much simpler.

As always, all comments are moderated and you have just 31 days to say something about a post featured in the news/event section.

Photo of the Month: Cricket Match

Cricket Match on the sports field. Photograph taken from the Wormald collection.

Here’s another image from the Wormald collection. The exact date of the photograph is unknown, but a rough guess would probably estimate at around the early eighties.

Do you have a great photograph you’d like to share with us?

If you’d like to submit an image for the photo of the month slot, you can send it to [email protected]

More details about how to submit photographs can be found HERE

Diamond Jubilee Thanks!

Slingsby, 8 June 2012 – The website and newsletter team have now recovered from an excess of hog roast, drinking in the afternoon, wellie-throwing and general fun and games at Sunday’s Jubilee celebrations on the sports field. Belatedly, we want to say a big thank you to Janet Clarke, Trudy Carr and everyone else who helped organise the event. You certainly brightened up what was going to be a dull day. We’re sure everyone who attended will agree

Diamond Jubilee Update

23 May 2012 – The Slingsby organisers have now laid on a vintage tractor procession,  tweaked some timings and given more guidance.  The revised progamme can be read here.
