Here’s a small selection of the scarecrows from the Slingsby Scarecrow trail 2013 that took place last week.
The standard was very high as usual and I’d have to say that my favourite was a tartan wearing Nessy who had travelled all the way from Loch Ness to Slingsby just to take part 🙂

Daffodils in bloom along the top road near Slingsby | Photo by Richard Flint
I noticed the wonderful wall of daffodils, featured in the photo, as I pulled up to the crossroads at the top of the Balk a few days ago. You can’t miss them!
After the drab browns and greens of winter, there’s nothing like a wall of bright colour to welcome in the spring and say goodbye to the winter.
Do you have a great photograph you’d like to share with us?
If you’d like to submit an image for the photo of the month slot, you can send it to [email protected]
