North Yorkshire Funding Summit (30 September 2021)

Find out how to secure the right funding for your community group, organisation or charity at Community First Yorkshire’s online Funding Summit on Thursday 30 September 2021.

If your community group, organisation or charity delivers services in North Yorkshire (including community buildings, churches, village halls and parish councils) and you want to gain practical advice on finding the funding you need, then this event is for you. It only costs £5.

Hear straight from the horse’s mouth what funders want from an application and top tips on how to secure a grant.

Local, regional and national funders will be holding seminars including: The National Lottery Community Fund, Two Ridings Community Foundation, Key Fund, Sirius Minerals Foundation, the Henry Smith Charity and many more. Find out about their funds, dos and don’ts for making applications and have your questions answered.

Ryedale Environment Week 2021

This year, The Ryedale Environment Group will be holding their second ‘Ryedale Environment Week’, starting with an opening zoom talk on Friday 17th September. On Saturday 18th, there will be an Eco Fair at Pickering Memorial Hall, followed by a series of online events throughout the following week. The events are being run in support of The Great Big Green Week, a nationwide initiative for climate change.

Open Day at NY Music Therapy Centre, Wath

Saturday 18 September 2021, 10.30 – 15.00 The Byre, Wath Court

The North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre’s Open Day gives you the chance to get a flavour of the valuable community-based work, that goes on just down the road in Wath, to provide therapeutic support to people of all ages.

You can book for workshops (at 10.30 and 11.30) or just drop in anytime up to 3pm.

The Centre will also be running sessions at Pickering Memorial Hall for toddlers and preschoolers (“Jiggly Bells”) every Wednesday at 10.30am–11.30 from 15th September 2021 – term time only.

NY Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Public Meeting

This next public accountability meeting will focus on how the police approach dealing with stalking and harassment and how the fire service define and manage risk.

  • North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service –  Defining and managing risk
    An update on the development of a community risk profile for the county, to help understand the risks facing our communities in order to target activities effectively.
  • North Yorkshire Police – Stalking
    An insight into North Yorkshire Police’s approach to dealing with stalking and harassment, to understand the recording, investigation process and hear about the services to support victims and reduce reoffending.
