Hovingham Repair Café Sat 11th June

Saturday 11 June, 10am to noon, Hovingham Village Hall

The doors open for the next Hovingham Repair Café and Community Hub on Saturday 11th June, 10.00-12.00 noon at Hovingham Village Hall. Our local volunteer fixers from Slingsby, Hovingham, Barton and Thirsk will do their best to mend or advise, free of charge, your repairs. Our June fixers include sewing, carpentry, general, electrical and for the first time, a pc/laptop specialist. Bring along any spare parts, zips etc for the repair. Local business owner Davina Mortimer, Beecham Weigh, will be available to discuss the benefits of refill and reducing plastic waste. Dig out your loose change and containers (if you have them), to try out the mini refill station.

Caroline Davis of Hovingham Project Purple says: “In the Community Hub area, we’re going to have a spotlight on refill. Davina, the delightful owner of Beecham Weigh (Malton), will be available to discuss the benefits of refill and reducing plastic waste. Dig out your loose change and containers (if you have them), to try out the mini refill station”.

Big Jubilee Party – from 12.30!

After yesterday’s tugs-of-war, welly wanging and all the rest, we need a more relaxing day.

What better way to round off Slingsby’s celebrations, and brighten up a slightly overcast Sunday than joining folk from across the Parish for the Big Jubilee Party. It kicks off at 12.30 pm on the Sportsfield.

Bring a picnic, rugs, good humour, chairs, blankets, fancy dress. etc etc.

There will be a decent amount of seating under cover, but perhaps not enough for everyone, so arrive in good time and in good spirits (but maybe have an umbrella to hand, just in case…)

There will be competitions, face-painting, and memorabilia will be handed out to the children.

You can find all the timings HERE
