Hovingham Quarry Festival 2013

quarry_festival_2013

Some news about this year’s Hovingham Quarry Festival from the organisers:

‘Firstly a MASSIVE thank you to anyone who came to last year’s super chilled Quarry Fest, which was a great success with everyone enjoying the chilled atmosphere and funky bands.

This year we are opening at 6pm Friday 12th July due to demand from you guys, some folk want to be settled in Friday night, tents pitched & having a few beers. So for those of you heading over Friday night we are having a live set from our 1st ever Blue Grass band ‘Brothers of String’, who make those Banjo’s sing and get everyone dancing! And then a DJ set from Rob Hill rolls on until midnight.

Saturday 13th July’s line up of laid back & funky bands is gathering pace, and we are pleased to be opening at 11.00am this year with the 1st band on at 12.00. We are welcoming back ‘The Trucks’ (remember the monk on bass guitar!), and the ‘The Freewheel’ with their gorgeous melodies. New bands so far are ‘Brothers of String’ (Blue Grass), and ‘The Glass Caves’ (Up and coming Indie band from York). More bands to follow……

We tried hard to get it right last year and everyone had a fab time, so please do bring some friends along to show them what a great festival we have. We are not a corporate event, and are trying to supply great bands, food, beers, friendly atmosphere and a great site to host it in at fair prices. If you have any queries please do email – [email protected].’
