Your Views Matter – Key Decisions

Wednesday 15th February, 6.30pm, Slingsby Sports Club

On Wednesday 15th February at Slingsby Sports Club there will be an opportunity to get together, discuss and obtain information and advice on how we can individually respond to Ryedale District Council’s Development Plan proposals. The focus for the evening will be on the 11 key questions Ryedale are asking and we will consider what they mean for Slingsby.

The event will start at 6.30pm and is open to all.

Eco-quiz at the Sports Club 3 Feb

Friday 3 February 2023, 8pm, Slingsby Sports Club

There will be an environmental take-over of the regular quiz. Will this move be sustainable? Find out on Friday evening!

Slingsby Parish Council Meeting, with Parish Survey Results 30 Jan

Monday 30th January 2023, 7pm, Slingsby Village Hall

This meeting will include a presentation on the results of the Parish Survey.

Among other items of particular interest on the agenda: Parish Charter consultation, Ryedale Plan consultation, Improvements to Sports and Social Club and a Fryton flooding update.

As always, residents are encouraged to attend.

Sports club open day – Sunday 8th January – Improvements to the club facilities

Sunday 8 January, 1pm to 4pm, Slingsby Sports Club.

Please come to an open day to view the plans to develop and improve the club facilities. Find out more and share your views.

The availability of Grant funding from Ryedale District Council provides a really valuable opportunity.

The Sports Club has developed a proposal in 5 parts:

  • Part 1. An extension to the club to create disability friendly facilities and appropriate changing facilities to make sport accessible for all
  • Part 2. Improvements to sporting facilities and coaching resources (including cricket practice nets and an artificial cricket wicket that can be used at all times)
  • Part 3. Improvement to the club catering facilities for social events
  • Part 4. Improved outdoor seating for families and disabled visitors (including wheel chair accessible picnic tables)
  • Part 5. A renewable energy system to reduce the impact of the club on the environment.
