Quiz and Curry Night on 2nd February 2018

Friday 2nd February at 7pm in the Village Hall. Quiz and curry night hosted by Friends of Slingsby School. Everyone welcome (including children – for whom there will be activities). Please buy tickets in advance from the School office – £5 for an adult, £2.50 a child, to include quiz entry and a tasty selection of homemade curries and accompaniments. Please bring your own drinks. A raffle will be run on the night.

Soupa Lunch on 17th January 2018

Wednesday 17th January. Soupa lunch at 12 noon in Slingsby Methodist Chapel  Schoolroom. Come along for soup, sandwiches & a pudding. All are welcome and there is no charge but donations welcome.

Local History Group meeting 16th January 2018

Tuesday 16th January at 7.30 pm in Slingsby Village Hall Committee Room. Local History Group meeting on Slingsby Castle. In their second talk, members Kate Giles (buildings archaeologist) and Margaret Mackinder will review what we know about the 17th Century Slingsby Castle – the building we see today. All are welcome – cost £1.

2nd Sunday Club on 14th January 2018

 

5-6.30pm on Sunday 14th January at Slingsby Methodist Chapel. 2nd Sunday Club. A club for children in years 1-6.

Come and have tea with your friends and then enjoy games craft fun friendship drama quizzes bible stories.

Future dates 11th Feb, 11th Mar, 13th May, 10th June, 8th July.

Christmas Eve service 10.30 am in Chapel. Reflections for the whole family.

Christmas Eve Candle and Crib service 4.15 pm in Church. A shorter service, particularly suitable for children (of all ages).

Christmas Day Eucharist service for all the Street Parishes in Church at 10.30 am
