Tour of Orchard Fields Roman Fort Malton 22nd July 2017

Saturday 22nd July 2017 11am – 12.30pm, repeated 2pm – 3.30pm

Dr Pete Wilson of Rarey Archaeology will guide two tours of Orchard Fields Roman Fort, Malton.

Much of the defences of the Fort survive as earthworks. The tour will examine the visible earthworks and put the Fort into the wider context of Roman Malton and Norton.

Please note this is a walking tour and the ground is uneven underfoot.

WHERE TO MEET AND PARK

Please meet outside the Old Lodge, Old Maltongate, Malton YO17 7EG. The nearest parking is Wentworth Street Pay and Display, and Orchard Fields is a 5-10 minute walk uphill.

COST – £5 (includes a copy of Roman Malton)

Stalls, tombola, music and games, and even a new recipe book, pizza and bread baking demonstrations using a wood fired oven.

After you have enjoyed the garden and looked at the stalls, enjoy a cup of tea and a scone, or a slice of pizza fresh from the oven.
