“The Stuff of Malton” lecture 16th August 2017

Wednesday 16th August at 7 pm at Malton Museum, Yorkersgate . Lecture by Dr Kate Giles on “The Stuff of Malton” – how written records throw vivid light on living, trading and shopping in the Malton of old. Admission £5.

Kate is a buildings archaeologist and a Senior Lecturer at the University of York, and will be known to many of us.

Access Information

The lectures at Malton Museum are in the Assembly Rooms, which are up a flight of stairs. Unfortunately, because of the age of the building, there is no lift access available.

The Museum is on the B1248, at 36 Yorkersgate in Malton.The nearest car parks are Market Place – 2 hours free parking, and Water Lane – pay and display.The postcode for sat nav instructions is YO17 7AB. The bus and railway stations are within easy walking distance of the Museum.

Slingsby Church Annual Big Clean 12th August 2017

Saturday 12th August from 10 a.m. Annual Big Clean of Slingsby Church.

Keeping this large building  looking good is a heavy task for the small regular congregation, so please could you spare an hour to come and help?

 Mid-morning refreshments will be provided.

Please assemble from 10 a.m. bringing gloves sweeping brushes, dusters etc. and any other equipment for inside cleaning jobs, or outside garden jobs if you prefer, such as removal of ivy, clearing weeds on paths and around drains, and sweeping porches and pathways.
